Why Do We Get “presents” From Our Cats?

If you keep your cat in the flat, you probably don’t know what it’s like to get a “present” from her.
But on the other hand owners who have cats in their house, know that they usually go outside and then come back with a gift. It is usually a dead bird, a dead mouse or any insect. And even though we want to throw up when we see it, it is important for every owner to know the reason for this “behavior”.
People who don’t like cats think that they are doing this because they are vicious and mean, and because their only goal is to kill someone. But what some of you don’t know that even though cats are tamed, they still didn’t lose their animal and hunting instinct.
That doesn’t mean that they are not good and cuddly, it just means that they still occasionally have to hunt.
What you need to know is that kittens mostly learn from their mothers when they are still small and inexperienced.
They are training them to hunt and mothers do it by bringing a dead animal which kittens have to eat, because that is their food.
Next time she will bring half dead animal and they will teach them to “finish the job” because like every mother, they want to help them to survive in the wilderness once they become adults.
So when your cat brings you an animal or any other prey, that means that she wants to teach you to hunt and it’s because she cares for you and in a strange way she doesn’t want you to be hungry.
So appreciate that.
